Be a Garden Safari Volunteer

We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated people who are keen to help out at one of Waiheke Island’s most worthwhile and fun fundraising events held on the second weekend of November.

As we have lots of different gardens sited over the island it is important that we have a number of volunteers on these sites each day to provide on site staff presence and support for any visitors who might need it.

Please note that volunteers are required to work outdoors.

Key Tasks

  • Greeting visitors
  • Answering visitor queries
  • Providing visitors with directions
  • Providing an on site staff presence
  • Directing traffic

Essential qualities

  • Friendly and approachable
  • Well presented
  • Sense of humour

Involvement in our volunteer programme, includes attendance at a volunteer briefing/welcome function.

Commitment

  • 1-2 shifts during the Garden Safari.
  • Shift times are 10am – 4.30pm Saturday and Sunday.
